This illustration and corresponding directions was designed to help children with repaired cleft plate discriminate between sounds made in the throat, nose or mouth. 

Before children can change the place of articulation of speech sounds they must be able to hear the difference (auditory discrimination). This illustration gives children a fun way to learn the discriminate between sounds made in the throat, mouth and nose. The image and directions can be downloaded as a pdf by clicking on the link or you can swipe between the image and directions by using a tablet or phone.
