This self-study course, developed by Dr. Catherine Crowley, focuses on how speech and feeding are affected by a cleft palate. Participants will learn about evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches for children with various compensatory cleft palate speech errors through a series of video modules and supplementary readings. Topics include speech therapy, oral examination and speech sound assessment, feeding a baby with cleft lip and/or cleft palate, syndromes, and surgical cleft palate repair.

- Passing the Assessment
- You will have 90 minutes to complete the 75 questions on this assessment
- You must answer 80% [60/75] of the questions correctly to pass the assessment. When you score 80% or better, you will be emailed a copy of your Certificate of Completion (note: Certificate of Completion is not proof of CEU credits earned)
- This assessment is made up of two sections:
- 20 multiple-choice questions in response to an audiovisual component
(e.g. images, video clips, and audio clips) - 55 multiple-choice questions that are only text
- Note: if you are having trouble playing video or audio clips directly on the assessment screen, each piece of media may be downloaded by following a link placed on top of each question
- 20 multiple-choice questions in response to an audiovisual component
- After you have answered all the questions, click the » (NEXT) button
- You will immediately be taken to a page revealing your score, whether or not you passed, and a breakdown of your answers
- You can take the assessment as many times as you need to pass it

- CEU credits from LEADERSproject are submitted to ASHA and assessed every six months (in June and December). CEU credits will be awarded within 45 days of submitting them.
